Local Man's Dream of Owning World's Largest Rubber Duck Sinks

A local man's dream of owning the world's largest rubber duck ended in disaster when the hefty waterfowl sank in his pool on Tuesday. The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, had been saving up for the iconic bath toy for years, and was ecstatic when he finally managed to purchase it online.

"I was so excited to finally have it," the man said, "I had visions of my entire neighborhood coming over to hang out in my pool and ride on the giant duck. It was going to be epic."

But things took a turn for the worse when the man tried to inflate the duck. "I knew it was big," he said, "but I didn't realize how big. It took me four hours just to blow it up with my trusty bicycle pump."

When the duck was finally inflated, the man set it afloat in his pool. At first, everything seemed fine. "It was amazing," the man said. "I felt like a kid again. I was even wearing my swim trunks."

But as more and more people began to climb aboard the giant duck, disaster struck.

"It just started to sink," the man said, shaking his head. "I couldn't believe it. All I could do was watch in horror as my dream sank to the bottom of the pool."

As the man's guests struggled to swim to safety, the man was left to ponder his ill-fated purchase.

"I should have known something was up when the shipping company delivered it in a crate labeled 'Contains Giant Rubber Deflated Duck'," the man said. "But I was blinded by my own ambition. Now I'm left with nothing but a deflated bird and a pool full of angry neighbors."

The man has since taken to social media to warn others of the dangers of buying oversized novelty pool toys. "I don't want anyone else to suffer the same fate as me," he said. "It's just not worth it."

As for the giant rubber duck, it has since been retrieved from the man's pool and is currently being offered for sale on various online auction sites. The man is hoping to recoup some of his losses and put this unfortunate incident behind him.
