American Newsflash: Germany Annexes Austria and Americans Won't Stop Talking About It

It's been all anyone can talk about since it happened: Germany has annexed Austria, and the world has gone mad. But here in America, the reaction has been particularly intense.

With politicians and pundits alike weighing in, it seems like everyone has an opinion on what this means for the world at large. Will it lead to another world war? Will Hitler's rise to power continue unabated? Will we all be speaking German before we know it?

Of course, some Americans are taking the news a little less seriously than others. At bars and around water coolers across the country, people are debating what this means for their favorite sports teams, their favorite TV shows, and even whether or not they should still travel to Austria for their upcoming vacations.

But perhaps the most surprising thing about all of this is the reaction of the American government itself. Despite all the tension and drama, the US has yet to take any meaningful action. Some are calling for sanctions or even military intervention, but for the most part, it seems like we're content to sit back and watch the world burn.

Only time will tell what this all means for the future of the world. But for now, one thing is certain: American newsflash or not, the world will never be the same.
