A man is taking legal action against a hotel after he claimed that the pool was so cold that even polar bears would refuse to swim in it.
According to sources close to the case, the man entered the hotel's pool area on a frosty December afternoon, expecting to take a leisurely dip in the heated pool. However, upon submersion, he quickly realized that the temperature of the water was not quite as advertised.
In fact, the water was so cold that icicles began forming on his body, causing him to shiver uncontrollably. It was as if he had jumped into the Arctic Ocean itself, rather than a heated pool at a luxury hotel. With his teeth chattering, the man attempted to exit the pool, only to slip on a patch of ice and injure himself in the process.
It is no secret that swimming pools are a staple of most hotel amenities. Therefore, in a world-class establishment such as this, one would expect that the heating system would be sufficient enough to avoid such a frigid catastrophe. Apparently, this was not the case.
The man has since sued the hotel for the physical and emotional trauma inflicted upon him due to the freezing pool experience. His lawyers have argued that the hotel's failure to provide a reasonable pool temperature amounts to negligence and is a breach of contract. As compensation, he is seeking a hefty sum to cover his medical bills and emotional distress caused by the traumatic event.
The hotel's management team is yet to comment on the matter. However, guests who have stayed at the hotel before have shared their own horror stories of icy pool temperatures, leading to speculation that this is not an isolated incident.
In response to the incident, the hotel has reportedly hired a team of engineers to investigate the matter and repair the heating system to avoid similar incidents in the future. They have also promised to compensate the affected guest with a free night's stay, a spa voucher, and a personal apology from the hotel manager.
As for the injured man, a speedy resolution to the case would surely bring the closure he needs to move on from the traumatic event. Hopefully, measures such as those proposed by the hotel's management team will prevent similar incidents from happening to future guests, and they can enjoy the hotel's amenities without having to fear for their lives in the freezing pool.
