Nvidia fans are a dedicated bunch, willing to go to great lengths to get their hands on the latest and greatest graphics cards. But their latest endeavor might have crossed the line from dedication to insanity.
Sources indicate that some Nvidia fans are willing to take on debt in order to purchase the new RTX 6090, which boasts a whopping 10KW power supply. While most gaming systems would struggle to even utilize that much power, that hasn't stopped these fans from shelling out up to $10,000 for the card.
But that's not all. To really kick things up a notch, some fans are also investing in mini uranium plants, which can cost up to $20,000, in order to boost their fps to an unheard-of 1000. Yes, you read that right - mini uranium plants.
Is this level of dedication impressive or alarming? It's hard to say. On one hand, it's admirable to see people so passionate about their hobbies. On the other hand, it's concerning to see people willing to go into debt for a graphics card and a mini uranium plant.
Perhaps most concerning of all is the fact that these fans likely won't even be able to fully utilize the power of their new graphics cards. Most games simply aren't optimized for that level of performance, meaning that these fans may have just spent tens of thousands of dollars on equipment that won't actually improve their gaming experience.
But hey, at least they'll have some seriously impressive gaming rigs to show off to their friends. And who knows, maybe in a few years' time, game developers will catch up and these fans will actually be able to fully utilize their extravagant equipment.
Until then, we'll just have to marvel at their dedication (or insanity) from a distance. And maybe invest in some less expensive hobbies. Like knitting. Or birdwatching. Or literally anything else that doesn't involve mini uranium plants.
