Russian President Vladimir Putin has done it again. In a bizarre press conference today, the controversial leader announced that he has discovered the secret to eternal youth. According to Putin, the key to living forever is a daily regimen of vodka and horseback riding.
"Da, it is true," Putin declared to a room full of stunned journalists. "I drink at least one bottle of vodka every day, and I ride horse for hours. These are the secrets to my youthfulness."
Experts are, understandably, skeptical of Putin's claims. Most doctors would advise strongly against consuming an entire bottle of vodka every day, let alone using it as some sort of anti-aging elixir.
And the horseback riding? While it's certainly good exercise, there's no scientific evidence to suggest that it can actually help you live forever.
But Putin was undeterred by the doubts of the medical community. "I know what I'm talking about," he insisted. "I feel younger every day. And look at me – I'm in excellent shape!"
It's true that Putin has always been in great physical condition. The 68-year-old former KGB officer is known for his love of the outdoors and his love of machismo. But whether or not his daily routine is really responsible for his youthful glow remains to be seen.
Regardless of the veracity of Putin's claims, the internet has already exploded with memes and jokes about the latest wacky announcement from the Russian president. Some have even speculated that Putin's "discovery" could have unexpected consequences.
