In the grip of vibrant Gotham City is a young boy by the name of Bruce Wayne. Bruce, fresh from the heartaches of losing his parents, found solace in the silence of the sprawling metropolitan. With an inquisitive mind yet to be tamed, Bruce decided to escape into the mysterious belly of Gotham, and as fate would have it, into an ominous, gaping cave.
As Bruce cautiously maneuvered his way through the cave, the darkness soon swallowed the remnants of daylight. Once the light disappeared, an odd, somber noise echoed through the stifling air binding the cave. Lurking in the shadows, a creature silently awaited its next meal. Its name? A grue - an unusual yet dangerous creature, known for its stealth and the suddenness of its attacks.
Bruce, unaware of this impending doom, continued to wander as his untainted curiosity led him deeper. It was at that moment the grue pounced, catching him off guard. As quick as the blink of an eye, young Wayne was overpowered. His struggle was fierce, yet futile. Indeed, it was the end of the path for young Bruce Wayne. The future Gotham had envisioned for him was abruptly snuffed out in the grue’s teeth-filled maw.
The cave fell silent once more, retaining nothing of Bruce's presence. The grue resumed its stealthy existence in the shadows, fading into absolute darkness. While Gotham busied itself with its vibrant lifestyle, oblivious, it lost one of its promising sons to an enigmatic beast in the heart of the city.
