Tragic News: Mario Bids Adieu and Dies Miserably

Mario, the famous Italian plumber and hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, bid adieu to this world earlier today in a tragic and rather bizarre incident.

According to sources close to the deceased, Mario had been feeling down and out for a while now. The endless coins, power-ups, and princess-rescuing missions seem to have taken their toll on the ultimate gaming icon. Friends and family have been in disbelief since the news broke out.

"He was such a jolly guy. Always had that goofy smile on his face, jumping around and defeating enemies left and right. I can't believe he's gone," said Luigi, his younger brother and sidekick throughout most of his adventures.

Bowser, known for his rivalry with Mario, spoke out in shock and disbelief, stating that he had nothing to do with the unfortunate accident.

"It's a real shame. We may have had our differences, but he was a worthy opponent and a friend. I never wanted it to end like this," said Bowser, as tears streamed down his scaly cheeks.

As for the incident itself, reports are sketchy at best. Apparently, Mario took a break from his regular world-saving routine and decided to explore some of the lesser-known sections of the Mushroom Kingdom. Some say he was in search of a legendary golden mushroom that would grant him ultimate power.

Others speculate that he simply wanted a break from the monotony of his usual routine and decided to take a relaxing stroll by the beach. Unfortunately, fate had other plans, and Mario's carefree walk ended up being his last.

Witnesses reported seeing a giant squid attacking Mario out of nowhere. The mighty plumber, known for his blue overalls and red cap, valiantly fought back, using all the skills he had amassed over the years. Sadly, even the mighty hero couldn't fend off the creature for long.

In a moment of desperation, Mario used his signature move, jumping headfirst to avoid the squids' tentacles. Sadly, he misjudged the distance and ended up hitting a rock that was hidden under the water. The impact proved fatal, and the hero breathed his last amidst the sound of crashing waves and cries of grief from his fans.

The Mushroom Kingdom has declared three days of mourning for Mario's loss. Fans have been pouring in from all over the world, leaving flowers, notes and other tributes to the fallen hero.

As for what's next, nobody knows. Mario's enemies have declared a ceasefire, at least for the time being. His friends and family are still struggling to come to terms with the loss.

"It's like a part of me is gone. We've been through so much together, and now, he's just... gone," said Princess Peach, wiping away tears.

As for the rest of us, all we can do is remember the joy and happiness that Mario brought us over the years. He may be gone, but his legacy will live on forever. Rest in peace, Mario.
