University of Oxford Announces New Major: Dark Arts

The University of Oxford is well known for its prestigious academic programs and groundbreaking research. From medicine to law, the institution boasts some of the brightest minds in the world. But in a surprising move, the university has announced a new major that has some students questioning their choice of school.

Introducing the Dark Arts major.

That's right, students can now enroll in a program that will teach them the mystical and often dangerous practices that have long been associated with the dark arts. Courses include "Curses and Hexes 101," "Potions and Elixirs," and "Summoning Demons for Beginners."

The announcement has caused a stir among the student body, with some excited to finally have a practical application for their love of Harry Potter and others wondering if this is really the direction that Oxford should be going in.

"I've always been interested in the dark arts," said Mandy Smithson, a junior at Oxford. "I just never thought I'd be able to study it at such a prestigious institution."

But not everyone is as thrilled about the Dark Arts major.

"I'm a little concerned about what kind of students this will attract," said Professor John Hargreaves, a longtime member of the Oxford faculty. "We don't want to have a bunch of Voldemort wannabes running around campus."

Despite these concerns, the university remains committed to providing its students with a well-rounded education.

"We believe that the Dark Arts major will be a valuable addition to our already extensive academic offerings," said Dr. Rachel Morris, the dean of the school of magic and sorcery. "It's important for students to have exposure to all types of knowledge, and the dark arts are no exception."

Of course, with any new major comes a need for resources. The university has already begun the process of building a state-of-the-art laboratory for its dark arts students to conduct their experiments.

Only time will tell what kind of impact the Dark Arts major will have on Oxford and its students. Will they use their new skills for good, or will they succumb to the temptation of power and darkness? One thing is for sure, it's going to be an interesting four years.
